The CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) course focuses on the essentials of leadership such as planning, implementing and reviewing, with a natural emphasis on health and safety.

LaTS is aimed at supervisory staff who have responsibility for teams, but who may have had little or no training in health and safety responsibilities or in the essentials of leadership.

To be eligible to attend the CCNSG LaTS course, you must hold a current CCNSG Safety Passport.

LaTS course content

The LaTS course is broken down into four elements:

  • The Team: What are the ingredients of a successful team.
  • The Plan: What do you need to put in place to plan for a successful and safe job.
  • The Job: Supervision, monitoring and communication.
  • The Good Job: Objectives, capabilities, resources and support.

 

 

On the Leading a Team Safely course you will learn:

  • Strategies for working safely with others.
  • Tips for communicating successfully.
  • Leading a team effectively.
  • Guidelines for achieving safe outcomes.
  • Techniques for self-management.
  • An awareness of health and safety at work and your responsibilities for creating a safe workplace.
  • An understanding of safe solutions to problems in the workplace.
