The ECITB’s review of National Occupational Standards (NOS) is gathering pace now with a further three NOS Suites approved during June.
The three NOS suites – comprised of a total of twenty-four individual NOS – were:
- Supporting Activities in Engineering Construction
- Welding Pipe and Plate
- Welding Supervisor.
These join the other nine NOS suites reviewed to date, which are:
- Common NOS
- Electrical maintenance
- Instrument and controls maintenance
- Mechanical fitting
- Mechanical maintenance
- Moving loads
- Pipefitting
- Plating
- Steel Erecting.
Thank you to the employers, training providers and their technical representatives who supported us to produce the updated NOS Suites.
Over the next few months and aiming for completion by the end of the year, the Product Development team at the ECITB will be reviewing the standards for:
- Condition monitoring
- Electrical fitting
- Non-destructive testing
- Onsite machining
- Project control, estimating, cost control, planning and scheduling
- Small bore tubing.
