Qualification summary

This qualification is available for registrations from 1 July 2024.

Based on National Occupational Standards, this ECITB Diploma in Supporting Engineering Construction Activities at SCQF Level 5 – Welding Pathway includes units on contributing to effective working relationships in engineering construction, working with environmental sustainability in mind and more.

The ECITB Diploma in Supporting Engineering Construction Activities at SCQF Level 5 (Welding pathway) qualification is a work-based qualification. The qualification comprises both knowledge and competence.

The objectives of this qualification are to:

  • Prepare learners for employment in supporting engineering construction activities in the engineering construction industry.
  • Support learners working in supporting engineering construction activities in the engineering construction industry.
  • Enable learners to progress to higher levels providing opportunities to possible supervisory and managerial roles.

To complete this qualification learners must enrol with one of ECITB’s Approved Centres listed below.

What is the qualification structure?

To achieve this qualification learners must complete all 11 of the following mandatory units. There are no optional units in this qualification.
