Are you looking to start or further your career in the Nuclear sector? Our Nuclear Bursary Award scheme is now open, so make sure you apply before 17 January.
The bursary scheme, which is funded by the ECITB and the NDA and managed by NSAN, provides financial support to individuals for education and training. It aims to attract, recruit and retain into the Nuclear sector. The latest round of bursaries focuses on key issues raised in the Nuclear Sector Deal, published last year by Government, including recruiting a diverse workforce with a target of a 40 percent female workforce by 2030. There is also emphasis on supporting workers from other industries to transfer skills, funding programmes of study or training that bridge skills gaps and encouraging individuals from SMEs to apply.
Chris Claydon, Chief Executive of the ECITB, said: “We are delighted to support the Nuclear Bursary, which offers young people a high quality route into a career in the nuclear sector.
“As the statutory skills body for the engineering construction industry, the ECITB has a crucial role to play in developing the workforce to address niche skills shortages and meet the current and future demands of industry.
“We are particularly keen to boost diversity in the sector and encourage applications from female candidates, people from BAME backgrounds and those who are coming from more deprived areas, who are considering a career in nuclear.”
The bursary can be used to support an individual on placements, internships, secondments and programmes of study relevant to the sector. Relevant courses of study include: Higher Level Short Courses, Honours Degrees, Masters Degrees, Post Graduate, CPD qualifications and workforce development.
